About the Business
Capels fish and chip restaurant is located in a Victorian structure built in 1899. The first owner was Lord Clinton of Clinton Devon Estates. It is known to have been a "fish cafe" since 1949 — possibly before — and was purchased by Emma Amelia Capel in 1956 for £4,000. Today, Capels is the only fish and chip shop in Exmouth with its own restaurant and currently employs several full and part-time staff who work hard to produce high-quality food.
Capels is expanding and we seek friendly individuals to join our talented team on a full and part-time basis. Experience is preferred but full training will be provided. Please contact us by telephone or email for more information. Capels has also received and a 5-star Food Hygiene rating from the UK Food Standards Agency.
